The man with the signs began his tribute 10 years ago, after the start of the war in Afghanistan, putting up the names of the soldiers who have given their lives since the previous Memorial or Veterans' day.

Somehow, man has come to find serenity between the trenches of land and sea. And while he has found humility in their strength, he is not immune from their often furious power. These few men bear witness to the sibling rivalry between Mother Nature's children under fleeting embers of a scorched sky.

Two Minute Portraits started as a proactive effort in college to learn how to use my photography DSLR camera as a video camera. They began as strictly visual pieces with a strong musical composition that strengthened overall tone and have grown over the years into intimate portraits of individuals both known and unknown.

I was very excited when the Boston based ad agency Mullen, came to me to direct and edit a series of web videos for Shout featuring American Gold Medalist Jennie Finch. We traveled down to Sulfer, Louisiana in the summer of 2011 to spend a day filming with Jennie and her family at her house. We produced three :15 second product spots to be used as preroll, and and an additional three one-minute videos for "Jennie's 27 Lessons I've Learned Along the way" featured on Shouts Facebook page.

I had the opportunity to direct a series of online videos for Google Mobile's Mobilizing Mobile, AL campaign while contracted under the Boston based ad agency, Mullen. Toward the end of 2011 we made two trips to Mobile, Alabama to create four case study videos, a :30 scripted teaser spot and lastly, a documentary-style recap video, which focused on the Mobilization event where over 450 local small and medium sized businesses created mobile optimized websites. For more information on the event and to see where the videos live please visit HowToGoMo.
